Stair Placement

Using an 8x10 deck, and assuming that one side is against the house, the following plans show all of the standard positions for a 36 inch stair. Stairs must coincide with the sides of the parquet squares so that the posts come through the holes.

Other possible wifths of stairs can be built as long as they fit the parquet system.

The possibilities are:
(1) 42.5 inch thread
(2) 49 inch tread
(3) 59 inch thread
(4)65.5 inch tread
(5) 72 inch tread

All widths other than standard 36 inch tread must have 2 inch thick closed risers for support. However, this adds to the price and increases the difficulty when buildinf a stair kit.
